After a 17 year absence, Lowell reappears under the assumption that nothing has changed. He shows up on Sonny's doorstep and is surprised to find Sonny 17 years older. Sonny is surprised to find Lowell not dead. He is not happy to see him- finding out that Lowell abandoned him (so it seems) is crushing. Lowell begs to let him crash on his couch and Sonny allows it because he is a pushover. Lowell gets gradually stranger and more distressing as the situation devolves. He comes to him in his dreams in the form of a red wyrm.
